Role of clerk in SBI bank
The SBI CLERK Selection process is depends on your performance in written exam, GD (Group Discussion) and interview.
Age Limit: As per Government rules and regulations Candidate’s age should be between 18 to 30 years.
Educational Qualification: Intermediate/12th class with 60% of marks for General category students and 55% for other categories.
Any bachelor Degree from any recognized university with pass marks.
The government modified rules specify graduation as the minimum educational qualification for any bank recruitments. All selected candidates for clerical positions will on probation for 6 months. After this time period, they are assessed either through a short test or performance review and confirmed as permanent employees.
Roles and responsibilities:
Actually in state bank of India (SBI), main responsibility of clerks are completing transactions, preparing vouchers, maintaining records and interacting with customers directly. Normally clerical cadre officials are in the cash counters. So their position is clerk cum cashiers. They are responsible for accepting payments, sanction with drawls, and verify cheques, issue demand drafts and other banking related services to customers. In addition this, clerks may also have to take up marketing of financial products of bank such as loans, deposits, schemes to visitors. Many candidates would prefer to work in public banks for the less work and pressure less environment.
