How to prepare English for SBI clerk ?
SBI recruits the clerk’s via written test. In the written test one of the papers that includes is English. English paper has 40 questions and each question carries 1 mark. Grammatical knowledge and vocabulary of the candidate is evaluated in English language section. English knowledge/language is a toughest section in both SBI PO and clerical exams.
The English paper consists of various topics like comprehension, short précis, letter writing and essay, meanings & opposites, ordering, preposition, antonyms, synonyms, vocabulary, sentence completion, sentence correction, sentence formation, tenses, usage of words. The general English section consists of 40 questions carry 40 marks. There will be 10 questions based on passage, 10 questions on cloze test and 20 questions from grammar part.

Knowledge in English language can be improved by increasing your reading habit. You need to read newspaper on a regular basis which will help to improve your vocabulary and comprehension skills. You need to note down the new words which you are sure off and study meanings for that by referring dictionary.
Practice test questions and try to develop you score. You can also try to solve model question papers. In descriptive section, your writing skills will be tested. To improve this area you can frame your own topics and write your views on that. Go through daily newspaper and news channel to keep you up to date on what’s happening around the world. Pay attention to the grammatical mistakes as they can change the meaning of the sentence. It is advisable that the candidate spend some time in learning the usage of grammar.
